First time hatching chicks, and my first lil one hatched today :) Its only a few hours old and my concern is that it cant seem to hold up its neck. Is this normal for a newly hatched chick or should i worry?

Give it time. It's very tired from the journey. Let us know how it is in a few hours. They flop around pretty good until they are dried off...like a drunken sailor.

They sleep on and off all the time...like they have narcolepsy....they just konk out.

thank you to those who commented. The little guy/girl is now doing great, wabbling around and even ate a few bites. It has the cutest feathered feet [IMG]
