Question of the Day - Monday, December 1st, 2025

Today's question is from @ShrekDawg:

If you're asking whether I see it's raining and think, "I should go for a walk," then no.
Same. I have walked outside in the rain going back and forth between my place and my Mom's, and I might have taken the dog for a walk while it was raining, but I don't really have a desire to go out walking in it if I don't have to.

I LOVE a warm, gentle rain. I'll deliberately walk or sit in one simply because it's so soothing. When the ground and crops are parched, I've been known to dance in the field in the rain. When my kids were toddlers, the big puddle that magically appeared in our drive was DD's bestie. She would stand at the door and slap the glass with both hands, laughing and crowing until we all went out to play in it. DS and I would wash cars in the rain - and still does. I guess the apples didn't fall far from the tree!

Usually if it rains here we also get branch-breaking wind plus thunder and lightning, not gentle Seattle-like rain that makes you want to get out the umbrella and go for a stroll. I would if I lived in Seattle, but this is part of Tornado Alley, so, no. Sometimes I will RUN in the rain though, if I have to go close a window for the chiggenz or something like that.

Sometimes. I’ve walked Brew in the rain before because he needed a walk. But neither of us enjoyed it and it was a very short walk because it started raining harder towards pouring while we were out and he tried to run home :lau that happened twice actually. So yeah. I don’t really purposely think “I’ll go for a nice slow stroll in the rain” ever. It’s more we have to go because he has to potty. Warm rain though, I don’t mind AS much and have danced in it before LOL but cold rain is miserable lol
