Question of the Season! Hen or Rooster?

    Hi everyone, I have 9 (7-9 week old) babies.

    I think all of them are roosters except 2! Please help with your thoughts...

    All pictures show pullets I believe.

    I think the lavender is a pullet. Very pretty one too! It's hard to tell with the black one since it has a little red in it's comb. It may be female but watch the saddle area and if those feathers come in pointed then you have a male. :confused:

    I thought for sure this one was a Roo. He’s play fighting with the other Roos...

    It's always hard for me sex EE's or Americana chickens. But the play fighting with other males probably tells the story. If the saddle feathers come in pointed then it's definitely male.

    Saddle feathers don't come in until 3-5 months of age.

    The two lavenders are looking like pullets. The black one is getting pointed saddle feathers so is definitely a cockerel.

    I have two 7 week old cockerels with saddle feathering.
