First year for me raising some bourbon red turkeys.
My 1 year old hen is laying eggs and has been for a few weeks.

I have been finding the eggs pretty much all over the yard. I let the turkey's out of the coop/run to free range during the day.

my question is this, what time of the day do turkey's usually lay eggs? if I had an idea of a time frame I would keep them in the coop/run till after the hen is done laying eggs so I can pick them up and incubate.

thanks

There is not a set time when the lay eggs.

What you might try is get her a good nest box. Pick up her eggs start setting them in the area where she can see them and hope she starts using it.

If she does use it never remove all the eggs so she will continue to lay in it.

I now keep all my hens penned during the laying season. Eventually they will wander off find a secluded spot to nest. I've lost several to predators on nest I couldn't find.
