Questions about a broody Silkie.

Being this close to Easer, we have plastic eggs out with our decorations. I'll put two of them under her for a while and then some chicks. Thank you everyone for your advice!! I'll let you know how it goes!
 
I also live in a cold area, my silkies are around 9 months old. My 2 partridge started laying first about 2 months ago. They layed for a month and went broody. My black silkie layed her first egg 2 weeks ago and immediately went broody. My buff was last to lay about a week ago.

My broody and her chicks I snuck under her during the night at 4 days old. They are now 2 1/2 weeks all doing great. :)
your lucky im still waiting on her to lay ... she could be laying and i just don't know it because i get a couple of white eggs so i have no clue if shes laying but i never see her go near the nest boxes so i think not
