We were thinking of adding turkeys to our homestead next spring. In all our research we have found that it is not a good idea to mix with chickens due to "blackhead." We intended to keep them seperate any way. We keep coming across adding copper sulfate to water for them as well as the chickens. We currently add apple cider vinegar to the chickens water and intended to also do this for the turkeys. In researching the ingredients in the feed we noticed that copper sulfate is in the feed to inhibit mold. Now my questions: 1. since it is an ingredient in the feed is it necessary to add to the water? 2. If so in what amounts and frequency? I have read threads from every day to once per week to once per season to once or twice a year? any suggestions?
