I have switched Cas to a blend of horse hay and Timothy hay as bedding for the winter, as continuing to wash his mats outside won't be a possibility much longer. He enjoys it but he also eats it. Any problems with him eating a bit of his bedding? For feed, he's now on Mazuri waterfowl pellets and gets a nightly salad of chopped kale, romaine, peas and cucumber. Just checking that a little hay won't hurt. Yes, he has free access to grit too. Thanks!

Timothy hay is actually hay of choice for geese, soft grass hay is always the best.

You were waiting to find out if Cass was gander or goose since your saying his does that mean gander?

Missed see you on here EvenLater. Love to see some updated pics of Cas.

I have had better luck with nesting material that is Bermuda hay. The straw hay was easily scattered.

We still don't know on the goose or gander thing. My heart still calls him my "good boy" but my brain sees more goose type body language. Who knows, maybe I have a transgender goose! Lol

I just got moved to our new house. Moving was so stressful on everyone, including the critters. But my favorite memory of it all was the ride from the old to new house, with Cas in the back seat of my Benz, head poking out the window like a dog and people staring. Lol. Funnier still if you take into account we live in Rockford, Illinois!! Most here have probably never seen a goose, let alone a pet one! Lolol

I'll get some updated pics up tomorrow. He's (or she...Lol) such a pretty bird. Gosh I adore his big fluffy butt!

A goose in the back seat of a Benz with his head out the window had to be a sight. Too bad you didn't get some pics.

Hope everyone is getting settled into their new home and enjoying it all. look forward to the pics.
