I had two chicks from day old. Both light sussex. One got red comb etc early on, and lack of tail feathers. He was obviously a cockrel/rooster and I had to rehome him before he strted crowing.

So this is Leia, who I'm sure is a hen but for some reason I'm nervous that I've got it wrong LOL. She's 14 weeks and all of a sudden her comb and wattles are getting deeper red.

Can anyone confirm that she is a hen?

    She's a pullet.

    She's just a early developer.

I did think so, she was very different looking to the other one. This photo was aged 11 weeks. Pullet on the left, rooster on the right I think, although when the guy collected the rooster he said she was a beautiful hen!!! I kept quiet
