We have a rabbit hutch that was given to us by a neighbor. It is 3ft by 8ft by 3ft high. It has a closed in part and is part wood flooring and part covered hardware cloth in the run.

Do any of you use rabbit hutches for chickens? If you do, what breeds do best in them and how many for a hutch this size?

If anyone has pictures I would appreciate that too. here is a pic of the current chicken coop with the rabbit hutch to the left.

Ive seen them used, its cute and remember you can always add a run to it for more space....are there nest boxes? if so inside or outer? That would make a difference.

Right now we have 3 rabbits in it but we are thinking about getting out of rabbits altogether. There are no nesting boxes but that wouldn't be hard to do.

Any bantam breed would work. We have our cochins in a rabbit hutch. Right now I think there are 5-7 in there. We do let them out during the day to free range but even when we don't there is plenty of room.
