Rain and Young Chicks?

Welp, my husband and I are in the final stages of finishing our chicks hoop house. The chicks will be 5 weeks old Wednesday, have most of their feathers, and have officially outstayed their welcome indoors! I am hoping they'll be able to go out tomorrow. It's supposed to be 68 degrees tomorrow, but there is a chance of thunderstorms (30% chance) is there anything special I need to do for them when it comes to the rain? Half of the hoop house will be covered with a tarp, will that be good enough?

As long as they can get out of the cold wet, they should be fine. I would put out some straw or hay for them. Just don't want a cold draft on wet skin.

Wonderful! Thank you for your reply. I'll double check to ensure no drafts, and we have some nice hay too so they'll be set.

Also you may want to check on them to make sure no one is panicing too much. Is this there first time in the rain?
