rainy and cold

will it hurt to let our chickens out of coop. the yard is wet and muddy and its alittle cold out. the last time it was like this and we let them out one got sick not sure if we should let them out again

If this were true, my whole flock would have been dead a long time ago. If given the chance to adapt, chickens will enjoy wet weather. Those feathers are actually pretty good at keeping the skin warm and dry. I always open the door to the coop every single morning. It's their choice to go out or not. Rain and mud means worms. I have a few girls that have learned to listen for the sound of the worms moving through the dirt. When they hone in, they dig it right up.

No,they may all get sick instantly.But,they can get sick from,i know because every time we get into these situations,at least one of them dies.

All I can say is wow. If my chickens had to wait till everything was completely dry to go out, they would never get to leave the coop. It rains just about everyday, all day here from October to April. And it rains about once a week from May to September. According to you, my flock should be dead.
If given the chance to acclimate, damp weather should not affect them so much. I suspect that your birds are dying from something other than the weather.

i meant they may not all die instantly,or never,some may take this weather better then other/

I live in Louisiana, we have had a couple bouts (6 days each) and each time i have lost a hen. In fact i just got ginished nursing one in hopes i have learned enough to possibly save this one.
Lots of wet ground can cause cocci to proliferate. Not saying that because your birds are out on wet ground they will die or get cocci just saying because ive lost some to it during times of wet weather i now pick up every single pile of poop that 18 birds can produce and i stopped composting their coop lining and started burning it to get cocci under control.
