will it hurt to let our chickens out of coop. the yard is wet and muddy and its alittle cold out. the last time it was like this and we let them out one got sick not sure if we should let them out again
If this were true, my whole flock would have been dead a long time ago. If given the chance to adapt, chickens will enjoy wet weather. Those feathers are actually pretty good at keeping the skin warm and dry. I always open the door to the coop every single morning. It's their choice to go out or not. Rain and mud means worms. I have a few girls that have learned to listen for the sound of the worms moving through the dirt. When they hone in, they dig it right up.No,what kills the is a muddy run and watery, cold run.Water and cold weather does make them sick ,but there is no way out of it.
