Raising 2 crested ducklings

I recently hatched ducklings in my Kindergarten classroom. Out of the 11 that hatched, I took 3 home to raise (I also raise chickens and pigs). This is my first time having ducks and from reading these forums I have come to realize that 2 of the ducks that I took home, choosing them because of their "mohawks" are actually crested ducks and it is a genetic defect. I was never planning on breeding the ducks, but is there anything I should know about their care or raising them? The 3rd duck does not have the crest.

I included a picture (though not a great one) of one of the crested ducks when it was a few days old. They seem to act just fine.

It's not a defect. It is a mutation and perfectly healthy.

Mine are actually the smartest in the flock.

I dunno, its fatal if you have offspring that gets the crested gene from both parents... It sounds a little defective to me.

I have crested ducks. I ordered them as hatchlings from a well known supplier. They are wonderful ducks.
