I have 5 older chickens. One became broody so I tried getting 4 fertilized eggs. All hatched.
1) how quickly can I have them be with the older chickens?
2) what extra food should I giver besides chick feed?

Welcome to BYC! So are the hen and chicks separated from the others? Can they see each other? What position in the pecking order is the new mom?

You can raise Chicks with Momma right in the Coop. I keep her separated for about 2 days and in they go. Momma will definitely protect the Chicks.
Yes that is what happened. The other 4 older birds prety much stay away when moma wants them to.
All are doing very well.

I am looking for a chart that tells me what my 1 month old chicks can eat. Halloween... cab they eat pumpkin innards...

They can probably have some pumpkin though I'd be careful how much they're getting, since you want them mostly on their chick feed. Also make sure they have grit available since they'll need that if they;re eating some of the seeds.

They can actually eat what ever Momma eats. The best way is to not give them too much and provide Grit too.
