Hi every one... I am a freshman in college and last year I did a research project over phesant and quail restoration techneics. Well long story short after working with the birds and the dealers who I baught them from I have really become interested in breeding and raising pheasant and quail alike. I have a small flock of ring necked pheasant at the moment that numbers 7 hens and 1 rooster... and I am thinking about building a flight pen and getting more birds this summer when I get the money. My question is... first How many square foot per bird do I need to allow the pheasants, ground wise, then for quail... and second what is a good ratio for hen to rooster, and then for the quail also.
