Raising pigeons for meat?

I was wondering what type of pigeon would be good for raising for meat?what would I feed it?Hows its housing.im gonna raise quail and maybe chukars next year and I thought pigeons would also be intresting.can anyone show me a good website about them?Also are there any places online were I can order fertilized eggs or somthing like that.Any informaition would be appreciated.Thx

Pigeon, are not like Quail,Chickens,and etc. The parents have to feed their young, so hatching eggs dont work.

I have a few Kings for Sale, meat type. If you was near Ohio would be glad to give you a few pair.

Sound like you maybe getting to many type of birds, try just a few to start. Chicken, and Quail would be a good start. Their eggs sell, pigeon do all the work, not sure they would sell that good at a farmer market.

Ya your right,I should take it slow,I know a guy around here(He was atually my life science teacher last year!)who sells pigeons.I might get a pair from him somtime.
