random thought of the day - how chickens are like popcorn

    Chickens are like popcorn because...

    As chicks, they are neatly encased in their "kernels" (shells). You "cook" (incubate) them for a while, until they "pop" (hatch) - at which point, you have a bunch of light, fluffy things that take up infinitely more room than they did just minutes (hours) before. [​IMG]

    It's difficult to count how many individual pieces of popcorn you have eaten, so you say "what the hey? what's a few more?" Same premise applies to owning chickens. (see chicken math threads)

    People love watching popcorn pop (and chicks hatch).

    There are always a few kernels that don't pop [​IMG]

    Nobody likes the smell of burnt popcorn. [​IMG]
