    Greetings,

I have a very "randy" 2 year old tom and since it has not yet gotten cold here in central Ohio (go Bucks) I have a problem. My hen is starting to look a little ragged from him jumping on her.... so my question is>>>>>how often must she mate to produce fertile eggs each lay. Up to now I have been using her eggs in omelets and baking but got to thinking.....why not put 'em in the 'bator. She started laying 4 or 5 eggs a week just after Thanksgiving and has not stopped since then but there is no nesting involved as she just lays anywhere. Should I let the tom breed her every day, every other day, or every 3 days for a supply of fertile eggs. Yeppers, I know that I can buy a "saddle' for her back but would rather not.
