Where do U buy your Dominiques from? Need a few good ones.

Hi Eggseronious,

I bought my Dominiques from the local feed store. I know they got them from a hatchery in Iowa, but not sure which one. I think both Welps and McMurry carry Dominique though.

I will say, my Dominiques were very hardy. I raised over 30 from day-olds and didn't lose any, except to animals.

My pet chicken sells them ( meyers ), Mcmurry, I ain't sure about Ideal. I got one from MPC and she's got a single comb, and barred feather patteren.

Hey thanks, I would like to know if U all know of anyone has ordered from Cackle or Meyer and how was the chicks compared to the breed standard. We had them years ago, and they faded away to varmints and have not had any in the past 25 years. I want to get a good flock started again. You have alot of upbreeding to do with most large hatchery chicks of certin breeds. Mcmurrys prices are like $4.50 on Doms.

I believe they are less expensive at Ideal. I don't know anything about the quality though. I got mine from a breeder near me.
