rare chick

    Hi guys! i was wondering if i could get help classifying what breed this chick is? its 3 weeks old now and i was leaning towards dark cornish but the legs are brown ish not yellow. any ideas?

    Where did you get the chick from? That might help us start our guesses. I don't recognize this chicks breed right off the bat.

    missed the leg color. could you possibly post a pic of the front of the head so we can see the face and comb?

    Looks like a second or third gen easter egger, thus the missing muffs.

    I was thinking the same thing, EE was the only thing that I thought Hmmm maybe that's what he is.

    I looked on murrays website and didn't see any chicks that resembled the chick with that bright reddish brown head.

    The willow-green legs is what gave it away for me. Some others have legs of that color (like my adult Phoenix roo), but usually EE chicks are the only ones that develop them early on like that.

    When I read "free rare/exotic chick" my mind always automatically thinks Easter egger rooster, and I think that's spot on here.

    hmmm i really like the idea of easter egger. i wanted the colored eggs. are they good meat birds? but yea when i first got him i went through their catalog and not one chick resembled him. dark cornish somewhat did but not the legs and he doesnt have anough blue to be blue lace red wyandotte
