Ive started what my school calls a Long Term Project and for mine I chose to hatch chicks! Since I live in the city I will be receiving the chicks from a family friend and her homemade incubator as well, and returning them to her farm once the project is over. I haven't received my eggs yet, but was wondering where a good place for my incubator would be (this is only one of many other questions on incubation). Thanks x

[IMG] what an awesome thing to teach the children. as far as placing the bator, you need somewhere away from temp. changes , drafts, heat register, windows ect.... have fun

Hello :frow Welcome To BYC and Happy Holidays! The BYC Learning Center has some really good articles on hatching, this is a really thorough one https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 Most incubator instructions say something like ideally they would be someplace inside where the temperature is really stable/ does not fluctuate much and is between 70* and 80*, it should not go below 60*, and there are no drafts but good ventilation, out of direct sunlight... it should be on a level surface also.
