My chickens have been breathing raspily for some time. I think the reason they why they are raspy is: Their waterer was dripping on to the coop floor for about 2 weeks. It got very damp in there. I cleaned and dryed everything about 2 weeks ago. I thought that the raspyness would fade away. It hasn't yet. I think they have been raspy for about 3-4 weeks. They just started to lay. 6 eggs from 6 black stars aday. They seem perfectly healthy but for the raspiness. They eat alot and lay only a few soft shell eggs. I put DE in their bathing dust. None in their food I haven't wormed them either. PLease help. I am new and I treid to put as much info as possible. Thanks in advance

Wondering why you let this go on for 3-4 weeks?? Any other symptoms??

I don't know if it will help at this point, but they need antibiotics. You can get TetroxyHCA at the feed store...1 teaspoon per gallon of drinking water...make fresh daily....for 10-14 days.

Even better is Tylan injectable....1/2cc for full sized chicken / 1/4cc for bantam size...orally for 7-10 days.

They also need heat...a heat lamp would help greatly. Good luck!
