Maybe it'll get more points when older...I think I heard the ideal single comb is 5 points but could depend on breed

Not all single combs have the same number of points. Ideally, you do want (for most breeds, with just a few exceptions) five points on the single comb. But, no bird is perfect and many have just a couple points or seven or more.
