One our leghorns has gotten out before several times so we clipped one wing. She sometimes doesn't find the nesting boxes to her liking. Today I could not find her then I saw a white chicken behind the fence... OH CRAP. She got into our neighbor's yard which us worse than our garage since we can't have chickens and they have dogs. I managed to take off a plank and she found her way through. I'm considering clipping her other wing. Some say it restores balance. I do think she doesn't plan to go back there since she was surely scared and was really hungry. Clip or not to clip?

i belive i would address how she got out and fixing that instead of clipping. fix once or clip every year. if a dog had of got hold of her today theres no way she could of protected herself.

I think that is the better route. Seeing how she managed to get over a 6 ft fence with a clipped wing I think she could have got away from a dog. I'll try to make the boxes more appealing too.
