We recently added two Welsummers to our hen house and today they came out for the first time.

    OMG.

They are so loud, and they "talked" incessantly -- at 8am on a Sunday morning. [IMG] We had to catch them and lock them back into the hen house, and we're going to have to take them back. Our Araucanas and our RIR are very quiet in comparison. Is it just that larger birds are noisier?

So sad. I really wanted Welsummers!

Oh cool, so they'll quiet down.

Hmmm thinking of it, I remember being alarmed at how noisy our Araucanas were when we first got them. And they're not at all vocal now.

Oooh I do hope they do quiet down and settle in. I really wanted Welsummers!
