red around base of duck beak

He is 12 weeks old and was just put outside full time in his pen and coop a few days ago and now I'm. Noticing a pinkish red around where the beak and feathers meet what's wrong or what could it be???

Other then his voice being louder then my other drake no

I think it is possible there has been some kind of irritation - does he stick his bill through a fence or something?

I would dab the area with antibiotic cream - not greasy ointment - twice a day. Use the cream without painkiller.

Also put a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per gallon of drinking water for a few days. Please keep us updated.

Is it cold and dry where you are?

And a dose of poultry vitamins in the water once every week or two ought not to hurt.

It's humid and hot here I was thinking it was sunburn but I don't know if they get that ... I've never seen him stick his bill out the fence but I guess it's possible
