I want to get Red Freedom Ranger chickens to grow this winter. My question is, at what age do they typically start crowing. I don't think they will last more than 3-4 months, do I need to worry about getting males?

    Thanks

I loved mine! I processed the cockrels about ten days before the pullets, as the males grow faster. Get straight run. The cockrels aren't crowing much, if at all, at about three months of age. Mary

I have some 10 week olds right now and none of the males have even attempted to crow. Many of them are processing size already.
