Red Hampshire Red...?

    Do New Hampshire Red chicks get in black barring before turning red?[​IMG]

    Mine didn't...but they are hatchery and do have some black on the tips of the tails...

    Hmmm.. I guess I will try to get a picture tomorrow and post it, it's too late to flash at them right now [​IMG]

    A New Hampshire will have black in the tail and some black ticking in the hackle, but no barring.

    Er.. I'm pretty new to chickens.. do you mind telling me what, "ticking in the hackle" is supposed to mean? [​IMG]
