What breed are these red hens?
They look like Rhode Island Reds to me.
Or they might be New Hampshire Reds
They aren't quite dark enough for me to call them RIR's. But they could be production red's or NH's. I vote for NH's or a production red strain that is a bit light.
The legs on the bird on the right in the second picture look awfully "fat" Makes me think scaly leg mites.
All of the RIR pictures that I have seen one the internet are a darker red. That is why I am asking the experts.
They look like the hatchery RIRs that I have. Breeder quality RIRs are darker and the production reds I've seen are lighter and more orangey usually.
I vote New Hampshire. I have no experience with production reds. but i dont know if they have the black hackles and tail feathers so i vote NH.
They are New Hampshire Reds notice the black on the tail.
Could be Red Star's
RIRs have black on the tails as well. Even my breeder quality RIRs did.
