A search on the google box on this site for "red mites" will probably tell you all you need to know. Good luck!

How bad is the infestation? It seems pretty drastic to rip it all down and start again. I have a constant battle with them but if I give all the birds ivermectin drops 3 or 4 times per year and change the shavings and spray the coops with red mite spray regularly it seems to keep them at bay. If I slack then they come back with a vengence but it is possible to keep on top of them.
