I read that if RSLs mate that the trait will not be passed on to future generations. What does the offspring of two RSLs look like? Why doesn't the trait get passed down?

The offspring would be "mutts" and coloring would vary.

They'd be mutts because RSLs are mutts themselves as a F1 generation cross.

I believe both sexes would look similar to a RSL female.

Thanks all. I kew they were mutts. But, I didn't know that the offspring would be more mutts than the adults. [IMG]

The Squawk Box Fresh Eggs Out Of The Brooder

my big old red sex link (shaver red) cock mated with a few of my RIR hens, i got 4 fertile eggs and hatched them under a broody hen. ALL were roosters, but one looks EXACTLY like a RIR rooster, the rest were white. purely mutts.

but i wonder if i cross that roo that looks like a RIR with a barred rock hen...will i get a black sex link?
