Red sex links chicken how to increase lifespan?

People (and especially hatcheries) like sexlinks because they are easily identified as male or female at hatch. They tend to lay every day, and that can be hard on the reproductive system. Egg binding and prolapsed vents from laying too large of eggs, cancer, and salpingitis or egg yolk peritonitis can be common. Making sure that your birds are healthy and come from a hatchery, preventing exposure to respiratory diseases, and providing a balanced diet with probiotics and enough calcium for strong shells would be what I would do. Crushed oyster shell in a separate container from feed, in addition to layer feed should be made available. Respiratory disease such as MG can affect the oviduct and cause salpingitis and lash eggs.
