Red skin, broken feathers

We have a guard goose that was pulling our chickens feathers, mostly at their necks or their tails, but since adjusting her diet we notice the painful redness around their preen glands and some missing wing feathers. I’m pretty sure this is a mouse problem, but do the mice actually chew on them at night when their roosting?
mid love suggestions.

Would a saddle cover the chickens so they could grow their feathers back? Was the goose eating the chickens feathers before you adjusted her diet?

I think I had read about mice biting chickens feet in their sleep. I have yet to deal with a mouse problem so I could be misremembering. I know I read about vampire bats doing that so I might be mixing them up.
