Redworms, nitecrawlers, etc.

What about redworms, nightcrawlers, and other types that you purchase for fishing? Can these be fed to the chickens if you come home with extras? Or...do they contain chemicals from the worm farms that may not be good the the chickens?

Apparently know one knows for sure. Oh, well! I guess the solution is to tell my DH that I dare not feed them to the chickens, so I will have to go fishing more often to get rid of them!!

We fed some nitecrawlers to our chickens a few weeks ago and didn't have any problems.

Should be fine and good for your birds, when I lived in Illinois many years ago it used to be a hoot watching the chickens pull worms from the ground after a good rain. Not many around here unless you buy them either...
