Refrigerated roadside eggs are fertile!

    We picked up a dozen eggs roadside weekend before last. We put them in the refrigerator right away, and they stayed there for 3 days. I brought home 4 of the green ones to put in the incubator—just for fun lol.

    This morning 2 of the 4 eggs are rocking and rolling!

    Good luck with the incubation - chick may hatch wearing a sweater.

    LOL I think the cold has caused a serious case of ADHD. I don’t think I usually see this much movement for a few more days.

    Nice! I also got some fridge eggs incubating. First time. Predator got half my chickens so I had nothing to lose. So far, day 12ish, they are doing great.

    I hatched fridge Call Duck eggs and starting some today actually under my Broody Silkie..:thumbsup

    Thank you. It been a rough year for poultry at our place. This new crop of chick will really help lift the spirits and make things right again.
