Hello! I am a farm girl who had a 25 year career as a Pastry Chef. Semi-retired (does anyone retire from cooking?) and living on our farm in central Texas. My family has owned it since the mid to late 1800's. I always wanted to grow /raise my own food. I had gardens most of my life...but, never had chickens. My mother had some when I was a kid, but, they either scared me or disgusted me. Let's face it they can be nasty... I now have a more mature outlook on raising poultry.
