I'm so relieved - wanted to share my joy here. I just got a message from my daughter. My granddaughter (age 10 now) who finished treatment for leukemia a few months ago had her monthly clinic visit today. All her counts were good - and she went to the "survivor" clinic for the first time to talk about long-term side effects of treatment. With various therapies to deal with bone pain and weakness and learning issues as a result of the 2+ years of chemo, she should do very well. Each month off-treatment with good counts increases her chances of full recovery. So today's results were very good news! She's the oldest of my 3 granddaughters. Here's my sweetheart! Here she is a few weeks before she was diagnosed, and then in the middle of treatment And here she is now. So very proud and happy of how far she has come!
