Craziest thing I ever did...will NEVER do that again! Lost 1/2 of them to Mereks. It was most depressing. Survivors are: 2 wheaten, 1 blue wheaten, 1 blue copper and 1 black copper pullets and 1 wheaten cockerel. You might note on the far right a golden cuckoo. I got 2 - 14 week old pullets today (vaccinated for Mereks). I've been letting them outside now on nice days and at first it was rather funny...they would all huddle together and move in a ball form. Lord knows they need grass and sunshine. Hope they're not permanently damaged from their 6 months of secluded winter existence. So how did you other folks who raised some winter chicks do?
