Hi, not sure if this is the best place to post, but has anybody else seen the latest National Geographic - they had a photo feature of hens adopted from battery farms in England. Does anybody know if battery farms in the U.S. allow their "used" chickens to be adopted?

There have been a few posts lately about this on some of the forums. It sounds to me like it mostly would be the smaller, local producers who would be inclined to do this.

Probably the big industrialized producers that have half a million hens at a time already have some kind of contract to sell them after the production cycle is over for processing into dog food or whatever.
