A friend dropped off a chicken they found wandering their neighborhood. We were taking pictures to identify the breed, and determine if it is a hen or rooster and noticed some pronounced scaliness on the top of its foot. What could this be? Sorry its so blurry :/

It could be scaly leg mite. From just that little bit of feather I can see, RIR comes to mind for breed. [IMG]

Thanks! We're thinking rir as well. And normal scaly leg. Ours are still very young so we haven't had much experience with more mature hens
