Rescued duckling.

Hi all! My family was camping this weekend and a lone baby duckling wandered on our site. There was no sign of adult ducks or other ducklings. The duckling started following us around and upon our departure we didn’t know what to do but to take it with us. It seems happy and energetic but I cannot get it to eat. Any suggestions. I am currently trying to fine a rescue to take it to.

I find a hard boiled egg mashed up always goes down well when your stuck on what to feed them. I had a similar incident and found myself with a day old baby duck with no feed or heat lamp. A boiled egg gave me time to get the other things it needed.

I did hard boil an egg and mash it up with peas and carrots. I just can’t get the duck to pay attention to the food to eat it.

Can you post a picture of it? Will it drink water?

What are you trying to get it to eat? I’d head to your local farm store and pick up some feed specifically for waterfowl or flock raiser.
