Our first loss. Went out this morning with chicken breakfast and found Louie in the coop dead. No obvious injury, he was fine yesterday. Given to us a few months ago from a friendā€™s flock. He was a very gentle barred rock and we feel lost. The girls are all fine.

Sorry to hear about Louie's death. It's always hard to lose one, especially when it comes without warning. I'm sure both you and the girls, even though they are fine, will miss him. He was a very handsome boy.

Thank you.

We have 15 chicks in a brooder and I was steeling myself to keep only hens but maybe thereā€™s the right boy in there too. We donā€™t need a roo exactly but it was nice having one since it worked out. The boys can be so spectacular.
