Well, I didn't have my usual good luck, but it could have been worse:
15 Black Copper and Wheaten Marans went into the incubator.
4 were tossed out after the first candling.
4 pipped but then died in their shells.
1 chick mysteriously died at the tender age of three days.
I'm left with 1 Black Copper and 5 Wheatens. The latter are particularly cute.
I don't know why we had so many pips that didn't make it. The humidity in the incubator was around 60%.
