I replaced it with a Ceramic heat emitter! I haven't slept that good in about 2 weeks. The chicks seem to love it as well. No bright red light in their brooder while they're trying to sleep. Bedroom light goes off, chicks go to sleep. Curtains open in the morning and voila, they awake to chirp and eat. I would consider the 40 dollars for this heat lamp a well spent investment for these and future chicks. Is anybody else using one of these?
This is the one I bought from petco. 100watt. 250 roasts em in my room.
