Hi Guys, Tom Here from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 This year I was kindly given some Rhode Island Red hatching eggs to try out. I candles the eggs, And 4/6 of the eggs were fertile but when the first chick hatched is was white and when it got older it turned into a light Sussex is this normally common in this breed ?

Thanks
Tom

So , a lot of the times with chicks/chickens there color is much lighter when they are chicks, and when they get older there feathers change to darker. But that chick was always a light Sussex, and it could have just been really light as a chick( lighter than most atleast).
