We got a couple RIR pullets but I'm thinking Sandy is starting to look like a Roo? Does anyone know for sure?
We arent sure either. The comb is small and pink like the others, but dont know why her tail feathers are shooting out like that more than the others.
Pullet. don't worry about a few funky feathers at this point, it's just a normal variation. If you saw a large red comb, that would be a cockerel.
Hi I have 36 red Rhode Island chickens to and when some of my young hens we're going up they had some funky feathers like roosters but now it seems normal and I could tell mainly from there com' there Com start being larger (the hens )and more red soon to tell the difference my girls comes started to get larger and more red at around 4 or 5 months and the roosters will start getting larger and more red at three or four months How old r your hens
