These 2 pullets-- barred rock, and white leghorn will be turning 14 weeks on friday. are they the size they should be? i fed them chick feed a little too late-- they just switched to layer a few days ago.

They look fine to me. 14 weeks is a bit early for layer feed, though. [IMG]

It could make them start laying early, which could cause prolapse. [IMG]

I keep mine on chick grower feed until they lay. The layer feed has lower protein and calcium in it which they don't need until they are laying.

Like the others said. 14 weeks is a bit early. I kept mine on chick starter until the first egg was found, which was at 19 weeks.

They look good for 14 weeks. I know everyone is saying wait on layer, but 14 wks is always when I start them on layer and they're right as rain.
