Hello, living in Mission Texas and have decided to start raising chickens in the backyard. Found this forum easy enough and have already found a good deal of information. Looking forward to learning and growing in the future with this community.

My wife and I want to raise chickens for the eggs. We built our coop this weekend and if I can get the pics downloaded, I will share. If you are from the RGV, we would love to hear your advice.

    Thank you,

    Mick and Sarah

Thanks to everybody for making us feel welcome. Since joining we have purchased 8 pullets ( 4 barred rock and 4 production reds) . They are in our front bathroom at the moment, until they get older or the weather can figure out what it wants to do. It's 45 at the moment and in the next 5 hours will be 75.
Anyway, thanks for letting us in on the fun.
