RIP Mr. Sparkles

Today I woke up to a day with no rooster crow. Through my own lack of attention I left the chicken coop open last night. Today I paid the price for my lack of attention. I walked into our coop to find 3 of our 8 week old littles torn to shreds. Our resident rooster was nowhere in sight, nor did we find any of his feathers. We searched all around our house and back field for traces of him and only found 2 tiny feathers, no blood. Mr. Sparkles on a good day was a jerk, but he took good care of his ladies and in the end gave his life for them. RIP Mr. Sparkles you will be missed

Oh I hate to hear that...how heartbreaking don't beat yourself up too bad though...happens all the time unfortunately.

Sorry for what happened. birds are a big part of our lives now and our boys would be devastated if an amial took any or our birds.
