One of my 4 RIR's has become very attached to my two silkies. We have just recently moved out girls outside full time, and whenever I open the chicken door for them to go outside, the silkies stay inside, and huddle under the one RIR that stays in with them. I put the silkies outside today, the RIR followed. Then when I went outside tonight to close up the door, the RIR was sitting on a cinder block in the run, and the silkies were huddled up underneath her. It was so cute, it's like they think she is their mommy, and she apparently thinks the same. Has anybody else had a similar experience?
