RIR with white egg?

    This is suppose to be a RIR, but she is laying a white egg? Any ideas? [​IMG][​IMG]

    Are you sure the egg came from that bird?

    That does not look like a RIR hen. That looks like a rooster with the large combs/waddles and the dark saddle feathers. Do you have other hens?

    Yes. This hen was the only one in the coop and that white egg appeared? I too thought this was a roo,but I am sure this egg came from this bird.

    Probably a Mediterranean breed. Most lay white eggs and have big combs.
    Or your significant other is playing tricks on you.

    That is a rooster, and roosters don't lay eggs.
